Partnerships

As an evolving organization, CBDC is open to forming new relationships with program or marketing partners, sponsors, pro bono partners, and volunteers.  We are also open to receiving in-kind donations of up-to-date equipment and software.  Please contact Jeanne Strain, Executive Director, jeanne@cbdc.org, if you are interesting in discussing partnership or volunteer opportunities.

Volunteer

CBDC Needs You

The Cambridge Business Development Center frequently uses the help and resources of volunteers in many ways. In the past, volunteers have helped us develop our database, worked with us as interns, and helped organize and add to our resource library.

Currently, we’re looking for volunteers to help us with these projects:

  • Resource Development

Help CBDC develop corporate sponsors for our events and programs. Help develop an alumni giving program.

  • Annual Awards Event

We will start planning the Awards event during the spring of 2002. The duties of an event volunteer would be to help us with mailings, phone calls, database entry and other logistical details relating to the event. We are looking for someone who is very reliable, detail-oriented, and has 5-8 hours of available time per week. This position would be good for someone who enjoys interacting with potential sponsors and attendees.

  • Compilation of on-line resources for entrepreneurs

A previous volunteer started this project, but we know the list could be expanded. The ideal volunteer for this project is someone who enjoys web research, is interested in learning more about the resources available for entrepreneurs, and who is good at organizing large amounts of materials. This work would ideally not be done at CBDC but instead would be done at your home or office.

To volunteer with CBDC, please contact Jeanne Strain at Jeanne@cbdc.org or 494 Massachusetts Avenue Ste. 4, Cambridge MA 02139 with a resume and cover letter describing your interests and which project you would like to work on.

CBDC is a Cambridge-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to help people start and grow successful and profitable businesses.  We work with both small businesses and high tech start-ups. By providing the services that we do, CBDC strives to promote economic growth and self-sufficiency in the local communities we serve.
