494 Massachusetts Avenue is located at the corner of Mass Ave and Brookline Street, with HiFi Pizza on the first floor. CBDC is on the third floor. Please call up to the office and someone will buzz you in.
Map, Directions and Parking
Directions
CBDC is easily accessible by car or by T. During the daytime, parking in Central Square is available at municipal lots identified on our map. Taking the T is a very convenient altenative. In the evening, free parking is readily available.
From the BU Bridge, Follow the sign for Central Square, going up Brookline Street from the rotary. Brookline Street ends at Mass Ave – the mural on the Middle East is on your right – and 494 Mass Ave is the building on your left.
From Harvard Square, proceed along Mass. Ave. Go through the main Central Square intersection (Mass Ave and Prospect St.) and continue two more blocks to the intersection with Brookline Street.
From MIT, proceed along Mass. Ave. You will pass the University Park on your left. Continue one more block until you come to the intersection with Brookline Street.
From Storrow Drive, look for the Central Square exit. Follow the signs to Central Square which will lead you across the Charles River. Once you cross the river, you will be on River Street heading into Central Square. Follow River Street to the end. At that point, River St. angles slightly left and merges into Western Ave. Angle left and then jog right. Turn right at Mass Ave and continue for two blocks to the intersection with Brookline Street.
By T, take the Red Line to Central Square. When you emerge from the station, walk a couple blocks down Mass Ave away from Harvard Square in the direction of MIT to Brookline St.
Parking
During the day, there are two parking options available if you don’t have a Cambridge parking sticker. One is to park at a meter, and the other is to park in the Green St. Garage.
Meters are available on the streets parallel to Mass. Ave. There are also a few on Mass. Ave itself. Many meters, some of them in parking lots, can be found on the streets directly parallel to Mass. Ave. These include Bishop Allen Drive, on the north side of Mass. Ave. and Green St. on the south side of Mass. Ave.
The Green Street Garage is located on the corner of Green St. and Pearl St. Enter the garage by going down Pearl St. for one block (Pearl St. is parallel to Prospect St., one block east of Prospect St.) and then taking a right onto Green St. The entrance to the garage is on your left. Parking is 75 cents per hour.
At night (after 5 p.m.), there is free parking available in two lots north of Mass Ave. The entrance to one lot is on Bishop Allen Drive, and to the other on Prospect St. Please see the map for the locations of these lots.
